About this grant

This grant will enable the Communications Consortium Media Center (CCMC) to provide strategic communications technical assistance to the 10 Mott-funded organizations participating in the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative (SFAI). The goal of the SFAI is to build organizational capacity for tax and budget analysis on behalf of low-income populations. Multiyear funding will support the center’s efforts to assist SFAI grantees as they address state tax and budget issues. Activities will include assessing media coverage on tax and benefit issues; analyzing state-specific media; evaluating individual grantees’ media activities and capacity; conducting on-site consultations; implementing audio press briefings for state reporters; and producing state-specific electronic press clips. In addition, CCMC will organize half-day working sessions at each of the SFAI gatherings, held twice each year.CCMC is a public interest media center dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations use media and new telecommunications technologies for public education and policy change.
