About this grant
The Dayton Peace Accord, which ended the four-year war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, set up a complex system of governance resulting in two republics — the Federation and the Republika Srpska. The radio drama, "Our Town, Our Future," was developed to build the capacity of local civil servants and strengthen the confidence of the public in democratic institutions.Multiyear funding will enable the BBC World Service Trust to provide technical assistance for the production of the radio drama, which will be broadcast in 12 episodes on more than 20 local radio stations. Specific activities will include organizing three conferences for 300 representatives of local authorities; producing four newsletters to address issues raised in the drama series for municipal workers and local politicians; and creating publicity materials and information packets to promote interest in the series. The BBC World Service Trust is a charitable trust established by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
