About this grant

The goal of the project is to support efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia and Montenegro to deal with issues of truth, responsibility and accountability with respect to the wars and violent conflicts in the region during the 1990s. Multiyear funding will enable the Religious Society of Friends in Britain (Quakers) to identify and support unofficial truth and reconciliation processes where they are happening; develop them where they are not; and provide links between people and organizations engaged in these processes for their mutual sustainability.Recent accomplishments included helping grassroots groups in rural Bosnia and Herzegovina to address past issues in their communities; providing training to Croatian war veterans; and organizing retreats and seminars for youth in Serbia and Montenegro.
