About this grant

This grant will enable the Harvard Family Research Project at Harvard University to continue to compile, disseminate and generate high quality online research and evaluation resources; create and disseminate research-based publications for researchers, practitioners and policymakers; and provide evaluation-related technical assistance to national, state and local afterschool stakeholders. Through these efforts, the project will contribute to the afterschool research community and support the translation of this knowledge into practice and policy.During the past two years, the project developed a national database of evaluations of afterschool programs, with 162 profiles posted; published four issues of the Evaluation Exchange periodical on afterschool programs; created two sets of publications targeted to both researchers/evaluators and practitioners, offering theoretical substance and practical advice on how to improve evaluation practice and program quality; organized two symposia on critical afterschool issues; participated on national advisory boards; and provided technical assistance to support members of the National Network of Statewide Afterschool Networks.
