About this grant

Working parents across the country face the challenge of finding afterschool opportunities for their children. For low-income parents who often lack access to information, transportation and resources, the challenge can be overwhelming. However, research shows that children from low-income families benefit the most from enrichment activities, but generally have the least access to such programs. This grant will enable Corporate Voices for Working Families to address the issue by building corporate support for afterschool programs.Funding will support activities that include establishing and maintaining a task force of six key companies; highlighting the need for corporate support of afterschool programs; developing positive attention and support for improved afterschool policies; and creating a video and related materials to strengthen additional corporate support.Corporate Voices for Working Families is a nonpartisan, nonprofit corporate partnership organization created to bring the private sector voice to the public and improve corporate practices on issues that affect working families.
