About this grant
The Democracy and Justice Communications Network was created by the Advancement Project to promote strategic communications on racial justice issues. To be effective at both the local and national levels, community groups need help delivering their messages effectively. Funding will enable the network to improve message development from collected data; build relationships with the national media in order to place racial justice stories, issues and spokespeople in the national media marketplace; and help grassroots racial justice organizations develop and implement strategic media campaigns through training and consultation.During the past year, the network helped nonpartisan groups conducting voter registration efforts in communities of color through the Clearing the Path for Just Democracy initiative; and assisted with communications for the Ending the Schoolhouse to Jailhouse Track project.
