About this grant
The purpose of this grant increase is to enable a key philanthropy support organization in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum, to take advantage of new opportunities to strengthen its organizational capacity. More specifically, the grantee will strengthen its senior staff skills for creative strategic planning, develop second-tier leadership within its program staff, and document and analyze its experience in philanthropy development in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe. The grantee was established in 2004 with the mission to promote and develop civil society and philanthropy in Bulgaria. Over the years, the grantee increased its membership substantially, provided high quality services to its members and other clients, pioneered new giving mechanisms, and participated actively in international initiatives of donor associations in Europe and globally.
