About this grant

The program goal is to support social change in Ukraine through the development of a strong and vibrant civil society. Through training and direct project implementation, the GURT Resource Center for NGO Development will aim to further disseminate participatory approaches to community development and decisionmaking across Ukraine. Additionally, the grantee will continue to strengthen its information provision by enhancing the interactivity and learning functions of its Internet portal. The grant builds on the grantee’s successful efforts at strengthening its role as a key provider of information on social development, which have seen the use of its increasingly sophisticated Internet portal more than double in the period 2011-2013. The grantee also successfully introduced participatory planning approaches to ten communities, resulting in the establishment of community development plans with broad-based support. Established in 1995, the GURT Resource Center for NGO Development is one of the leading sources of information and expertise for civil society in Ukraine.
