About this grant

The GURT Resource Center for NGO Development provides technical assistance, training, consultation and other services to Ukrainian non-governmental organizations (NGOs), primarily in the Kyiv region. The center encourages nonprofit partnerships with local government, business and the media; and works to introduce young Ukrainians to the field of philanthropy and the role of civil society in the development of their country.Multiyear funding will enable the center to develop and disseminate information; provide assistance to strengthen the organizational capacities and sustainability of NGOs; and promote partnerships and cooperation among NGOs, business, media and the government. Specific activities include publishing a weekly electronic newsletter highlighting Ukrainian NGO projects and a bimonthly magazine, the "Dobra Volya"; maintaining several Web sites; creating a database; providing training through its NGO Management School; conducting a series of training sessions for NGOs on public and media relations; and collaborating with the Information Community Network, the Orpheus Civil Society Network, and other national and international networks. The GURT Resource Center for NGO Development, established in 1995, is part of the European Foundation Centre’s Orpheus Network.
