About this grant

The program goal is to support the development of community foundations across Russia. The Community Foundation Partnership will work toward this goal by focusing on three main objectives: 1) creating a common identity and purpose among its members; 2) promoting professional development of members’ staff through an annual community foundation school; and 3) ensuring greater coherence and cohesiveness within the partnership and among regional alliances through joint programs and standards. In 2011-2012, the grantee continued to develop its virtual library of information resources while delivering a range of training and networking opportunities for members. The grantee also successfully advocated for inclusion of community foundations within the designation of socially oriented organizations, qualifying them for access to a range of government funding mechanisms. Subsequently, the grantee, regional alliances, and a number of individual foundations won competitive federal grants established for such groups. The Community Foundation Partnership has been an informal, voluntary collaboration since 2003, registering as an independent organization in November 2006. It currently consists of 26 community foundation members.
