About this grant
To further the work of the afterschool and community school fields, the Collaborative Communications Group (CCG) will endeavor to build connections among afterschool programs; training and technical assistance providers; academic scholars; national and state nonprofit organizations; and networks, foundations and governmental agencies.Funding will enable CCG to provide conference and logistical support for five meetings to convene stakeholders in order to improve the quality and sustainability of afterschool programs and school/community partnerships. The first meeting will promote collaboration among Mott afterschool grantees; the second will enable training and technical assistance providers to further the development of the afterschool workforce; the third will allow academics and other writers to publish articles that further the integration of afterschool and community education; the fourth will encourage joint efforts among foundation and government representatives to identify efforts to improve public education; and the fifth will enable state education agency representatives administering 21st Century Community Learning Centers and supplemental education services programs to expand strategies for implementing effective afterschool programs.CCG is a team of professionals dedicated to improving organizations, schools and communities through innovative communications strategies, products and technologies.
