About this grant

The International Finance Corporation, the private sector lending arm of the World Bank, has become the leading environmental and social standard-setter for international project financing and currently is revising its environmental and social safeguard policies. Originally, the policies were to be finalized by May 2005; however, the process of consultation on the policies has been extended by the International Finance Corporation through October 2005. This grant increase will enable Peregrine Environmental Consulting to continue providing critical research, policy analysis and coordination to international non-governmental organizations to establish new benchmarks for global environmental standards for international financial institutions and private sector lending in developing countries.
