About this grant
The Global Greengrants Fund’s (GGF) Brazilian advisory board has determined a need to both expand funding sources within Brazil and strengthen the capacity of Brazilian environmental organizations by creating an independent Brazil Local Fund. This grant will enable the GGF to do the preliminary work necessary to develop a strategic plan and set up the fund.Multiyear funding will support activities that include developing structural and operational plans for the Brazil Local Fund; researching the optimal legal structure for establishing the fund; designing information and publicity materials to raise public awareness; building strategic partnerships and fundraising in Brazil and internationally; and establishing a pilot regional office.GGF, established in 1993, is an international collaborative of environmental donors that works to strengthen grassroots environmental non-governmental organizations by providing small grants to groups in developing countries.
