About this grant
Through this grant, the Instituto del Tercer Mundo will work to enhance the research, monitoring and communication capacity of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to influence and promote reform of the international financial institutions (IFIs) in the Latin America region. The project will provide essential information and communication tools to NGOs to strengthen their ability to analyze problems caused by IFI lending in the region, and develop viable solutions.Multiyear funding will support objectives that include filling information gaps by translating key information; generating new information and analysis; and using a multilingual Web site – www.choike.org – that will provide access to research results, opinions and NGO activities to promote dialogue and collaboration in Latin America and internationally. The Instituto del Tercer Mundo, founded in 1989, is a nonprofit research and advocacy organization that focuses on international financial institution reform.
