About this grant
The Centre for Anti-Racism and Anti-Sexism Trust provides training, capacity building and education to help organizations and individuals address the challenges of diversity in South Africa. This grant will enable the center to host a series of seminars and talks to bring people from diverse backgrounds together to discuss the progress that South Africa has made during its first decade of democracy. The discussions will focus on topics such as race, reconciliation, religious tolerance, affirmative action and quotas; and provide a platform for honest and open debate on how South Africa is reversing the apartheid legacy of racism and discrimination. The Centre for Anti-Racism and Anti-Sexism Trust was formed in 1994 as part of a joint research project with the University of Cape Town to examine how the country was adapting to the changing political and socioeconomic environment.
