About this grant

The Genesee Institute, an affiliate of the Genesee County Land Bank, was established to provide technical assistance, planning and research for urban revitalization and sustainable neighborhoods in Genesee County. The institute created the Resident Research Fellow program to offer new perspectives on some of the critical issues facing the Flint area. Funding will enable the institute to support one fellow for one year, including a stipend, a loft in the Genesee County Land Bank building, and a small travel and research budget. Fellowships are designed for students currently working toward graduate degrees. Fellows will be required to produce at least one professional paper involving innovative approaches to sustaining the integrity and well being of urban, suburban and rural environments.
