About this grant
In the decade since the welfare reform legislation known as the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunities Reconciliation Act, the nation’s welfare rolls have significantly declined. While many people have successfully transitioned to employment and self-sufficiency, there remain a significant number of persistent welfare cases. This renewal grant to Flint Area Specialized Employment Services, Inc., will continue funding for the development of a program that uses temporary employment and supportive services to transition persistent welfare clients to sustainable employment.
