About this grant

The program goal is to strengthen community-based organizations and local philanthropy throughout Ukraine. Having expanded from an initial focus on the environment, Ednannia has increasingly positioned itself as a supporter of a wide range of community-based initiatives. It will continue this work in 2012-2014 through ongoing support for the development of community foundations in Ukraine. In addition, it will operate a voucher-based training market where it will seek to match training providers with organizations seeking capacity building support. In addition, the grantee will undertake a substantial internal organizational review as it positions itself for further development. Most recently, the grantee has helped foster the emergence of 13 prospective community foundations. Having recently won a tender to manage the voucher-financed training system, it has facilitated 44 targeted capacity building initiatives for Ukrainian organizations. Established as an indigenous grantmaker in 1999, Ednannia is known for its rigorous, transparent, responsive, and effective grantmaking.
