About this grant
This grant will provide support to Ednannia, an organization that works to strengthen civil society and improve the quality of life in Ukraine by providing small grants and technical assistance to regional non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Multiyear funding will enable Ednannia to encourage citizen initiatives; foster the organizational and professional development of NGOs; promote partnerships and cooperation among NGOs and other sectors; improve the public image of NGOs; promote the development of a favorable legal climate for NGOs; and strengthen local philanthropy. During 2005-2006, Ednannia will support local NGOs through small grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 for projects that promote citizen initiatives to solve social problems on the local level. Funding will also allow this indigenous grantmakers to devote resources to board and staff development, strategy planning, fundraising, and other activities to enhance its long-term sustainability.Ednannia, established in 1999, is an offshoot of ISAR’s representative office for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.
