About this grant
Based on recommendations from a recent assessment, the Urban League of Flint will evaluate its board and management capacity to meet the needs and concerns of the Flint community. In the past, the Urban League has worked diligently to address quality-of-life issues for the disadvantaged, including civil rights for African Americans. More recently, the league has focused on employment opportunities, housing, and education for communities of color.Funding will enable the league to work with a team of consultants to design a process to evaluate the organization’s impact on the community; and determine a future direction for the organization.Since its incorporation in 1943, the Urban League has been an advocate for human rights, civil rights and social justice in the Flint area.
