Michigan Statewide Afterschool Network

About this grant

This grant to the Michigan Association of United Ways will support the Michigan Statewide Afterschool Network to continue to build an afterschool and summer learning system that improves outcomes for children and youth through school-based or school-linked afterschool programs. Over the next three years, the network will support the development of policy, partnerships, and funding to benefit youth in afterschool programs. The network’s specific initiatives will: 1) develop strategic communications to build public awareness about the importance of expanded learning and summer learning programs; 2) implement a development plan to increase sustainability for the network; and 3) increase knowledge and capacity of expanded learning professionals to support college and career readiness in afterschool programs.
