Minnesota Statewide Afterschool Network

About this grant

This grant to the Minnesota Department of Education will support the Minnesota Statewide Afterschool Network to continue to build an afterschool and summer learning system that improves outcomes for children and youth through school-based or school-linked afterschool programs. Over the next three years, the network will support the development of policy, partnerships, and funding to benefit youth in afterschool programs. The network’s specific initiatives will: 1) increase communications activities to build public awareness about the importance of afterschool; 2) develop a fundraising strategy to diversify funding sources for the network; and 3) create a framework to coordinate, align, and better leverage existing expertise and resources for professional development.
