About this grant

This grant will allow Metro Housing Partnership to partner with the Carriage Town Historic Neighborhood Association to complete renovations to the Jackson Hardy House, which was recently damaged by lightning. The renovation will enable the house to be used as a neighborhood design center and office for the association.Funding will support renovations that include replacing rafters, flooring and windows in the attic; repairing and replacing damaged areas of the second floor; restoring walls and windows, wood shingles and painting the exterior; and fixing damaged portions of the roof. Metro Housing Partnership was established in 1992 to serve as a leader and catalyst in expanding and enhancing quality housing initiatives in the Greater Flint area. The Carriage Town Historic Neighborhood Association was founded in 1982 to preserve and promote the history of Flint and revitalize a historic downtown neighborhood.
