About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen volunteerism in Romania. To this end, Pro Vobis National Resource Center for Volunteering will work with nongovernmental organizations, governmental agencies, companies, and the media to increase understanding and appreciation of the role and contribution of volunteers in Romania. In addition, the grantee will support various government, nongovernment, and business organizations to involve volunteers effectively. Also, the grantee will increase its own institutional capacity and sustainability. In the past two years, the grantee coordinated an annual national volunteer week attracting over 4,000 participants, organized conferences and meetings to discuss the development of volunteerism in Romania, and provided training to government and nongovernment institutions interested in volunteerism. Based in Cluj-Napoca, the grantee has been promoting and developing volunteerism as a viable resource for solving community problems in Romania since 1992.
