About this grant
This grant will enable the Counterpart Creative Center, in partnership with the Kyiv International Institute for Sociology, to conduct research on the current state of corporate philanthropy in Ukraine. Although Ukraine has experienced a modest increase in philanthropy during the past two years because of double-digit economic growth, corporate philanthropy – one of the most promising forms of giving – is yet not well-understood in Ukraine. Funding will support a multistage survey of 1,000 Ukrainian large- and medium-sized businesses to provide statistical information on the levels and types of philanthropy that already exist and why this is the case. The survey also will determine what corporations consider to be the obstacles to philanthropy through interviews. Results will be published in both Ukrainian and English, and widely distributed. The Counterpart Creative Center began working in 1993 as the training and research arm of its U.S. parent organization, the Counterpart Foundation. Its mission is to help civil society organizations maintain high-quality standards of services and meet the needs of their clients.
