About this grant
The program goal is to stimulate community-based civic engagement and resource mobilization in Bosnia-Herzegovina. During 2010-2011, the Tuzla Community Foundation will focus on grantmaking programs that empower young people, stimulate public participation in community development initiatives, and promote community school development. The foundation will also share its experiences with other communities and community-based organizations in Bosnia-Herzegovina. During the past two years, the foundation consolidated its grantmaking programs and helped several of its operational projects become independent initiatives. In the same period, the foundation improved the administration of its community small grants program and increased giving through its Youth Bank program. With the goal of building a local base of financial support, the foundation launched programs to recognize and support individual donors to the foundation. Based in Tuzla, the foundation is networked with other community foundations and community-based organizations working with youth in Europe.
