About this grant

The project goal is to stimulate local philanthropy and improve the capacity for strategic grantmaking that supports the participation of women in decisionmaking processes at local and national levels. To this end, this grant supports the institutional and programmatic development of the Reconstruction Women’s Fund, an emerging indigenous grantmaking organization in Serbia. During the grant period, the grantee will provide grants to local women’s organizations and civic initiatives in Serbia. Mott support during this period will allow the grantee to develop new programs that complement the fund’s grantmaking, provide training and networking opportunities for the fund’s grantees, build the fund’s capacity through evaluation and networking, promote the fund’s activities to a wider audience, and broaden fundraising efforts. Over the past two years, the fund conducted research on Diaspora giving, provided professional development opportunities for key staff, and networked with similar funders in Europe and the United States.
