About this grant

The program goal is to engage the public and young people, in particular, in constructive dialogue and action that promote and strengthen rule of law, accountability, and reconciliation in Serbia and the Western Balkan region. Through a variety of activities, Youth Initiative for Human Rights focuses on building the capacity of young people to address these issues and on increasing dialogue among young people from all sides of the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia. Over the past two years, the grantee has educated young people about the importance of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, advocated for greater transparency in domestic war crimes trials, and established a foundation to support youth activism. The grantee is based in Serbia and has a field office in Pristina, Kosovo, as well as partner organizations in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro.
