About this grant
The program goal is to engage young people in political processes and civic activism in order to promote and strengthen the rule of law, accountability, and transitional justice in Serbia and the Western Balkan region. Through a variety of activities, Youth Initiative for Human Rights focuses on building the capacity of young people to address these issues and on increasing dialogue among young people from all sides of the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia. Over the past two years, the grantee has strengthened its network of national offices in the former Yugoslavia, operated a grantmaking foundation that supports local youth-led projects, established a policy school for young people, and built a platform for broad-based youth activism called "My Initiative". The grantee is based in Serbia and has a field office in Pristina, Kosovo, as well as partner organizations in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro.
