About this grant
The program goal is to further extend the model of community schools in Moldova. Project activities will focus on continuing to bring community school practice into the mainstream of Moldovan educational policy. Step by Step Moldova will give particular attention to developing capacity around social inclusion for schools as a critical part of the latter’s educational and community outreach functions. In addition, it will further strengthen regional hubs for peer learning, self-assessment, and school improvement across its network. In 2012-2014, the grantee increased the number of community schools to 171; improved the skills of 50 trainer-facilitators working across eight regional hubs; and successfully attracted international resources to support capacity building related to social inclusion, in response to needs identified through school self-assessments. Step by Step Moldova has promoted democratic change in Moldova’s education system since 1994.
