About this grant

The goal of Moscow School of Political Studies is to strengthen the leadership skills of Russia’s emerging political, civic, and business elites. Through its four program areas — seminars, publications, a Web site, and an alumni association — the grantee will provide a unique forum for dialogue for young Russian leaders. Attention will increasingly focus on leaders at the local and regional levels, with over 20 regional workshops and seminars planned. The program of national-level and international workshops will also continue. Over 30 regional and federal seminars have been conducted in the most recent grant period, involving over 3,000 participants. In addition, alumni developed over 50 local and regional initiatives aimed at furthering the school’s democratic ethos. Established in 1992 and based in Moscow, the grantee works toward building an open, democratic society in Russia based on the rule of law, strict observance of human rights, and the encouragement of civic initiative.
