About this grant
This grant will enable Parents for Public Schools to expand and strengthen the network of parent-based chapters working to improve schools. Multiyear funding will support efforts to move chapters from volunteer parent-led groups to more stable organizations. Activities will include providing a national clearinghouse of best practices, news and other information; conducting a series of regional conferences; encouraging networking with similar organizations; distributing a national newsletter; creating a Web site; and offering training opportunities at the regional and national levels.Parents for Public Schools is a national organization of community-based chapters working to strengthen public schools by breaking down barriers such as race, ethnicity and income in order to build a broad-based organization of parents working together to improve their schools.
