About this grant
Bridges to the Future, a countywide afterschool program administered by the United Way of Genesee County, in partnership with the Genesee Intermediate School District and the Flint Community Schools, serves approximately 13,000 students at more than 100 sites. Since 2005, the University of Michigan has worked with local program partners to understand and overcome institutional and organizational barriers to the development of sustainable funding strategies. It also has worked to understand the evolution, operations, activities, and performance of the current program.This grant will enable the University of Michigan to develop a sustainability plan for the program in addition to continuing information gathering and analysis for the purpose of recommending strategies and activities that will assure the successful management of Bridges to the Future and its long-term existence.
