The focal event of the year will be the Homecoming Weekend to be held on September 23-25, 2005. Other planned activities include a collection of oral histories of the Flint community presented by the Sloan Museum; a black tie sesquicentennial fundraising dinner hosted by Mott Community College; an international youth music festival hosted by The Whiting; the Erie Shores Nash Car Club; an original play about Flint at Flint Youth Theater; a car and motorcycle show benefiting Toys for Tots hosted by the UAW; and two news shows at the Flint Institute of Arts. The Flint Sesquicentennial Commission is made up of 23 people from throughout Flint and Genesee County, representing both public and private organizations.
