About this grant

The program goal is to promote the development of community schools in Russia as one of the most effective institutional forms for public participation in community life. The New Eurasia Foundation will build on a successful program of grants and training support for a growing network of community school development support centers in 18 regions of Russia, with at least three new centers to be added in Northwest Russia. The program will also make networking and information exchange among leading Russian community school experts and practitioners more systematic through an expanding Internet portal, a rigorous shared training methodology, and regular meetings of community educators. Founded in 2004 by the Eurasia Foundation, the Madariaga European Foundation, and Russia’s Dynasty Foundation, the New Eurasia Foundation seeks to preserve and strengthen civil society in Russia and to promote the country’s integration into the world community.
