About this grant
The Fulcrum Foundation provides small grants, training, technical assistance and networking opportunities to grassroots regional non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Russia that protect people’s rights, promote tolerance and foster democratic values.Multiyear funding will enable the foundation to improve the effectiveness of these NGOs by encouraging partnerships and helping engage more youth. Specific activities will include awarding grants to 10 regional partnership projects, each of which must involve at least three NGOs; awarding 20 to 25 grants to support regional NGOs in efforts to engage youth in human rights defense and the promotion of tolerance in their local communities; and working with students and teachers to expand their knowledge of the field of human rights and increase the level of youth activism.The Fulcrum Foundation, founded in 1999, supports civic initiatives aimed at encouraging the establishment of a rule of law state, the protection of constitutional rights and freedoms, and the legal education of the general public.
