About this grant

This grant will enable the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) to conduct an analysis of the parking and traffic flow in downtown Flint. Currently, downtown Flint does not have a comprehensive parking and traffic plan. The availability of convenient, efficient and safe parking will be important to the success of new commercial and residential ventures.Funding will provide a 20 percent match to the U.S. Department of Transportation funds to undertake a study of parking and traffic flow in downtown Flint. The analysis will make recommendations for improvements to be made to the downtown area that will support revitalization efforts.GCMPC was established in 1963 to provide a framework and encourage development that enhances the quality of life in Genesee County through government and community partnerships.
