About this grant

This grant provides support to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities to assist in a broad-based effort to inform policymakers and the public about the implications of federal proposals to cut funding for key domestic programs and to change budget rules and program structures in a way that leads to even deeper cuts down the road. Mott funds will support two primary components of this effort: grants to state organizations to allow them to build effective coalitions, and a national coordinator at the center who will function as a bridge between national policy debates and state efforts. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is a Washington, D.C.-based think tank widely respected for its timely and credible analyses of federal budget and tax policies. The center also coordinates the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative.
