About this grant
This grant provides ongoing support for the Budgeting for National Priorities project. The project seeks to convince political leaders in Washington and the general public of the need to restore fiscal discipline in ways that result in: a) an efficient and effective government whose benefits and costs are fairly shared; and b) a strong economy whose growth potential is enhanced by public and private investments. To accomplish these goals, the Brookings Institution conducts research, policy analyses, and outreach activities, all aimed at defining the magnitude of the federal deficit problem and producing policy solutions that will command the attention of federal policymakers. During the past four years, the project published a range of educational and policy products, which received extensive attention by the media, policymakers, and other influential stakeholders. Located in Washington, D.C., the Brookings Institution is widely recognized and valued as a nonpartisan, balanced source of policy research and analysis.
