About this grant

This grant will enable the Brookings Institution’s Center on Children and Families to identify and promote policies of state governments and higher education institutions that have the most promise for helping low- and moderate-income students afford and attain a college credential. To accomplish this goal, the Center on Children and Families will produce and disseminate research and policy analyses that bring attention to critical issues and identify policy solutions that increase the effectiveness of financial aid as a tool to drive college access and completion. During the past several years, the project has produced a range of educational and policy materials that received extensive attention by the media, policymakers, and other influential stakeholders. Located in Washington, D.C., the Brookings Institution is widely recognized and valued as a nonpartisan, balanced source of policy research and analysis.
