About this grant
During the past few years, a number of nonprofits in South Africa have experienced financial, organizational and leadership problems, most likely due to poor governance and weak accountability. This grant will support efforts of the Accountability Institute South Africa to help nonprofits attain greater accountability and transparency by providing training, capacity building and technical support. Multiyear funding will enable the institute to implement a two-year accountability system, IMPACT 20/20, specifically developed to address the common challenges faced by nonprofits. IMPACT 20/20 is a comprehensive planning, implementation and performance measurement program that focuses on governance, human capital, social contribution and financial sustainability. The institute will work with donors and the South African NGO Coalition to identify organizations to participate in the program.
