About this grant

Although the role of civil society in South Africa has changed since the end of apartheid, little has been published about the changes that have taken place or how these changes have affected the nonprofit sector. Funding will enable the Co-operative for Research and Education (CORE) to complete a study of the evolution of civil society in South Africa, publish the research as a book and disseminate the findings to a broad audience.CORE is a nonprofit research organization that focuses on issues related to civil society and democracy in South Africa.
