About this grant
DOCKDA Rural Development Agency is an intermediary grantmaker that supports the work of rural development organizations in poor, marginalized communities. Over the last two years, it worked with home-based care organizations in the Northern Cape Province, strengthening organizational capacity, mentoring the leaders of these organizations, and assisting with fundraising. It trained 135 adults in various areas including basic administration, tourism, and computers to improve their chances of finding employment. The grantee will continue to work with rural communities in the Northern Cape Province to build civil society and citizen capacity to achieve gender equality, enhance strategies to prevent gender-based violence, and reduce the spread and impact of HIV/AIDS. The agency will make grants to community-based organizations and empower unemployed adults in rural areas through education and skills development.
