About this grant
To complete its transition to a free market democracy, Ukraine needs international assistance and expertise. As Ukraine’s closest and largest western neighbor, and having gone through a similar transition, Poland is well-suited to share its experiences with Ukraine. In response, the governments of Ukraine, the U.S. and Poland created the Polish Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation "PAUCI".Multiyear funding will enable the organization to help Ukraine implement administrative and local government reform processes; adopt international and European Union business standards, apply internationally recognized ethical standards in public life; address youth participation; and work toward closer integration with European and Euro-Atlantic structures. The PAUCI Foundation, launched in 1999, is a successor organization to the Polish-American-Ukraine Cooperation Initiative (PAUCI).
