About this grant

Urban Habitat created the Society Equity Caucus (SEC) to promote regional equity in the California Bay Area. Representing more than 75 community-based groups working for social equity in the nine Bay Area counties, SEC serves as a model for addressing regional equity issues and provides insights for others undertaking similar work.Multiyear funding will enable SEC to address transportation justice issues; create a transportation equity analysis tool to document the disproportionate impacts placed on low-income communities of color; and evaluate and document the coalition’s experience to share with the field. The mission of Urban Habitat is to work in partnership with low-income communities and communities of color to promote social, economic and environmental justice in the Bay Area and beyond.
