About this grant
The program goal is to promote international private and family philanthropy. To this end, Charities Aid Foundation initiated a program to encourage high-net-worth individuals from middle-income countries to become effective philanthropists. Activities include researching private and family giving among high-net-worth individuals, working with relevant networks of wealth managers and financial advisors, developing donor-advised funds and support services, and providing technical assistance and advice to donors. During the first two years of the program, Charities Aid Foundation concentrated these activities in Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, and Mexico. As a result, Charities Aid Foundation has increased its client base in these countries from three to ten clients with proposed assets of $700 million and facilitated the creation of at least six new private foundations. Mott funds will continue to support the costs of one staff person and travel-related expenses.
