About this grant
In response to the situation facing the U.S. regarding important domestic policy decisions, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities launched the Federal Budget Advocacy Project to build capacity among state policy groups to inform policymakers and the public about the local, state and national implications of the proposed reductions in funding for key programs. The Center for Community Change (CCC) has been working with CBPP to build a complementary strategy that will support grassroots organizing efforts. Funding will enable the CCC to provide information, training, advocacy materials and strategic advice on the federal budget content and process. CCC’s new Web site, www.ActionsSpeakLouder.org, will be an important resource in delivering assistance efficiently and economically. Currently, more than 10,000 people are registered to receive weekly e-mail updates.CCC provides organizing and technical assistance throughout the U.S. Its mission is to help low-income people develop the power and capacity to improve their communities and change policies and institutions that affect their lives.
