About this grant

Established in 1937, the Flint Farmers Market serves as a community gathering place, local landmark and common location for local businesses and family farmers. In mid-2002, the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation (URC) began managing the Farmers Market and has significantly upgraded the facilities.Funding will support the creation of additional parking space and improvements to the interior of the main market building. URC was founded in 1999 as a joint initiative of the Genesee Area Focus Council and the Flint Downtown Development Authority. Its mission is to pursue a downtown redevelopment strategy that incorporates both private and public partners.
