About this grant

With private foundations facing new social, economic and political challenges, the time is right for organized philanthropy to reexamine and reframe the ways it serves the public and plan for the future. Funding will enable Aspen Institute’s Nonprofit Sector Research Fund to lead a three-month planning phase for the Caring to Change project. The planning phase will include interviews and informal discussions with key leaders in the nonprofit and foundation sector to gain insight into their thinking about the central issues affecting foundations and how to more broadly frame the value and benefits of organized philanthropy. The Aspen Institute works to develop practical leadership in today’s world by organizing nonpartisan seminars and policy programs for leaders in business, government, the media, education, the arts and the nonprofit sector in democratic societies worldwide.
