About this grant

This renewal grant to the Center for Human Rights and Environment in Argentina will support its initiative to bring public and private investments into compliance with international environmental and human rights law and globally accepted environmental standards. It will focus specifically on influencing the investments made as part of the Initiative for Integration of Regional Infrastructure in South America due to the extensive environmental and social implications of these large financial flows into the region. Activities will focus on the environmental and social impacts of a major regional natural gas pipeline, as well as on assessment of existing mechanisms for public oversight of such projects and identification of new opportunities to ensure access to justice for affected communities.
